Itinerary

DAY: – 1 …/MUKALLA

Upon arrival at Mukalla Airport, you’ll be greeted by our team and transferred to the hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY: – 2 AL MUKALLA – AL MUKALLA

This morning, we explore the historic port city of Al Mukalla, the gateway to Hadramout and one of Yemen’s most picturesque coastal towns. Our first stop is the Sultan’s Palace (also known as Ma'in Palace), a landmark that overlooks the Arabian Sea. The palace, now home to the Mukalla Museum, houses collections of artifacts, manuscripts, and treasures that showcase the region’s rich history and culture.

Next, we immerse ourselves in local life with a visit to the Fish Market, where fishermen bring in their fresh catch of the day. We then head into the Old City of Mukalla, a charming maze of alleys lined with traditional Hadrami houses, coral-stone architecture, and vibrant souks. It’s the perfect place to wander, take photographs, and experience the blend of history and coastal charm. Afterward, we’ll return to the hotel to relax.

DAY: – 3 AL MUKALLA – AL SHIHR – GHAYL BA WAZIR - HAID ALJAZEEL

At 08:30 AM, we’ll depart from Al Mukalla and drive to Qail Ba Wazeer, where you’ll have the opportunity to see henna and tobacco trees, the famous springs, and the charming village nestled amidst them. Afterward, we’ll continue our journey to Haid Aljazeel Hotel, perched on the plateau, where we’ll enjoy lunch and check in.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the nearby village of Khailah, known for its colorful palace, followed by a visit to Haid Aljazeel Village, dramatically set on the rock. We’ll return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY: – 4 HAID ALJAZELL - SEIF - AL HAJIRIN – SEIYUN

From Haid Aljazeel, we’ll journey into one of the most stunning wadis in Hadramawt: Wadi Doan. This fertile valley runs between the towering table mountains and is one of the most remote regions in Yemen. It’s worth climbing to the top of the plateau (Aljaw) to catch a breathtaking view of the canyon from above. The sight you’ll see seems almost otherworldly.

As we explore, you’ll be captivated by the unique architecture of the villages, as well as the picturesque towns of Rehab, Sif, and Al Hajarain. You’ll also see the famed frankincense trees in Al Mashhed—a scene perfect for filling your camera’s roll. Finally, we’ll head towards Seiyun, where we’ll spend the night.

DAY: – 5 SEIYUN – Traim – SHIBAM – SEIYUN

Departure from the hotel at 8:00 AM to Tarim, one of the most important centers of Islamic learning in Yemen. Here, we’ll explore the Al-Muhdar Mosque, known for its striking mud-brick minaret, and the Al-Qaf Palace, a fine example of architecture in Hadramout. After enjoying our tour in Tarim, we will return to Seiyun to visit Al-Kathiri Palace, the city’s most iconic landmark — a massive white mud-brick palace that once housed the Kathiri sultans. Today, it serves as the Seiyun Museum, showcasing artifacts, manuscripts, and treasures from Hadramawt.

By midday, we return to the hotel for check-in and lunch, followed by a short rest to escape the midday heat. At around 3:00 PM, we set out for Shibam, famously called the “Manhattan of the Desert” due to its centuries-old mud skyscrapers. We’ll spend a couple of hours wandering its alleys, then climb to the nearby mountainside for a spectacular sunset view over the town. Evening return to the hotel.

DAY: – 6 SEIYUN/ FLIGHT BACK

Morning transfer to Seiyun Airport for your flight home.
