Embark on a 5-day adventure through Socotra Island, a UNESCO-listed gem known as the “Galápagos of the Indian Ocean” for its surreal landscapes and unparalleled biodiversity. This carefully curated itinerary takes you through the best of Socotra’s highlands, caves, canyons, coastlines, and underwater treasures.
Your journey begins in the lush Dixsam Plateau, home to its iconic forest of Dragon Blood Trees, before descending into the spectacular De’erhor Canyon. Explore hidden coastal cliffs at Nujed and Amak, dive into the mysterious Degub Cave, and hike to the natural pools of Homhil, overlooking the sea.
Camp under the stars at Areher Beach, visit the mystical Hoq Cave, and snorkel in the rich marine ecosystem of Dihamri. Then, enjoy the pristine beauty of Qalansiyah Bay and take a boat trip to Shoab Beach, one of Socotra’s most secluded and magical spots.
End your tour with peaceful moments at Delisha Beaches, and experience the charm of Hadiboo, the island’s small but lively capital, before flying back with unforgettable memories.
Upon arrival at Socotra Airport, you will be greeted by our team and immediately begin your adventure to the Daxim area, where you can enjoy the sight of Dragon’s Blood Trees and capture some photos. Afterward, we’ll drive towards Fermahen, home to the largest Dragon’s Blood Tree forest, with over two million trees.
Continuing our journey, we’ll reach the freshwater pools at Wadi De'erhor, where we’ll take a rest and enjoy swimming in the cool, clear waters. Afterward, we’ll set up camp for the night.
After breakfast, we’ll set out on a scenic journey through the south of the island. Our first stop is Nufed, with its vast sand dunes, followed by Defsha Mountain, offering dramatic views over the coast. We’ll then continue to Amak Beach, a pristine stretch of white sand, before exploring the fascinating Degub Cave, known for its natural formations and panoramic views of the coastline.
Later in the day, we’ll reach the Homhil Protected Area, famous as the “Land of Frankincense.” Here, natural pools surrounded by dragon’s blood trees create an unforgettable setting. Finally, we’ll head to Wadi Areher, where the fresh river meets the sea—an ideal place for swimming and relaxation. We’ll set up camp for the night at Areher.
Early in the morning, we leave Areher and head towards Hoq Cave, one of Socotra’s most impressive natural wonders. We’ll begin a 2-hour uphill hike to reach the cave, followed by an hour of exploration inside, where you can marvel at the stalactites, inscriptions, and fascinating underground formations. Afterward, we’ll spend about 1.5 hours descending back down.
Next, we’ll drive to the Dihamri Marine Protected Area, renowned for its crystal-clear waters and vibrant coral reefs—perfect for snorkeling or simply enjoying the breathtaking scenery. In the late afternoon, we’ll arrive in Qalansiyah, the island’s second-largest town, nestled between dramatic cliffs and turquoise waters. We’ll set up camp for the night near Qalansiyah.
The morning begins with a visit to Detwah Lagoon, a protected paradise known for its crystal-clear waters. In the afternoon, we’ll take a boat trip to Shu’ab Bay, gliding past mangroves and spotting marine life along the way. Enjoy snorkeling in its pristine waters before we continue on to Ghuba. By evening, we’ll return to Hadiboo, the island’s capital, where we’ll settle into the hotel for the night.
